Reports from the front lines

Faith Community of the Inland Empire may be small in numbers, but our impact around the world has been large—due to our consistent giving to worthy missions.

Although we give to many high-profile ministries, we have deliberately focused on faithful believers performing vital work in obscurity. It's our privilege to support them.

Below are some of the people and places we're helping. Read and be encouraged.

Inland Empire

We joined with City Mission Ministries in San Bernardino, in ministering to Lisa’s little family of three who were homeless and destitute. We provided motel housing for one week until they could be placed in temporary housing.

Awakening Ranch. This is a Christian men’s addiction recovery center in El Mirage. Gifford Claiborne is coaching them in fundraising so they can raise the money they need to do all that God has called them to do. And Bill Ireland has been writing their monthly appeal letters.

Care and Company. This local ministry led by Vicki Brobeck provides food, hygiene items and other necessities to families in need. We support them with $50 per month.

Prison Ministry

As you may know, Faith Community supports our prison ministry with $200 a month, which provides Bibles and other Christian literature to inmates throughout California's prison system. This quiet work has been changing lives for nearly three decades.

Pakistan

Debtor's prisons still exist! In Pakistan, many entire families are held in bondage through multiple generations, forced to labor from sunup to sundown making bricks. Working with Gospel Revival Ministries, we're helping to free these families. We also help men establish small businesses to support their families. Through the Teresa Sewing Center, women can learn a trade of their own. We've helped buy sewing machines for these women, and helped get the children into school for the first time in their lives. We have also provided surgery for those needing medical attention.

Haiti

Again working with Gospel Revival Ministries, we sent funds for emergency medical help to the poor and needy following Hurricane Matthew, where flooding caused an outbreak of cholera and other diseases.

We also provided:

  • A generator for an orphanage and school
  • A clean water filtration setup for the orphanage and community
  • Funding for a bakery that bakes bread for the orphanage and school (The extra is sold in the community to provide additional funding.)

Brazil

We work with Vine House Church Ministries to establish training centers and house churches in this huge, important South American country. We provided funds for two houses where missionary families can live and start house churches, reaching out to the surrounding areas. We also provided funding for the purchase of a power boat for transportation up and down the rivers, which enables missionaries in a number of house churches to coordinate their activies. No roads exist in these areas, so the rivers are the only means of transportation.

Here’s a report from Vine House Church Ministries:

The ministry in Brazil continues to grow and thanks to the help of Life Bible Fellowship Church and Faith Community Church we were able to see the purchase of a home in Sao Paulo de Olevencia where we have started a new ministry in this new region of the Amazon. Tabatinga continues to grow as well as Novo Olinda. Both these sites have added additional churches and villages to their outreach. Pastor Pedro in Tabatinga also has expanded our vision to a place called Coari where he travels to with the desire to bring a good testimony of God there.

India

Here's a message we received from a national missionary in Odesha, Orissa State, whom we helped by providing a motorbike:

It has been a great joy in working together with you and your church. Every day when we sow and reap by the help of the motor bike we remember the brothers and sisters who have contributed to buy it. We thank our Lord Jesus for their token of love for helping us to carry the gospel literature to many lost souls in this darkest part of the world.

Motorbike and continual prayers has brought some successful impact and good results in Berahmpur, a city of 800,000 people in Orissa , where we together are planting the seed of salvation. We have been able to travel 500 streets with 50 thousand pieces of Gospel literature and 1000 New Testaments. Verbally shared the gospel with 1000 people. We have been able to travel another 20 villages which are around the city. Demonic oppression is very common in this area. 20 demonized people are set free and about 100 miracles of healing have taken place. Income generation programs are being taught to 50 women in slum areas .We are working with 200 slum children. We are continually visiting 100 college students of 10 colleges by the Bike. Bike helped us to prepare 20 women leaders in the city. About 500 people have accepted Christ due to our joint venture. Motor bike takes us to 20 prayer cells in the city . This great work could not have been achieved without Motor bike. Praise the lord.

And the following is a letter we received in 2015 from Pastor Samuel Sondor in Orissa:

It has been a great joy in working together with you and your church. Every day when we sow and reap by the help of the the motorbike, we remember the brothers and sisters who have contributed to buy it. We thank our Lord Jesus for their token of love, for helping us to carry the gospel literature to many lost souls in this darkest part of the world.

The motorbike and continual prayers have brought some successful impact and good results in Berahmpur,a city of 800,000 people in Orissa, where we we gather, planting the seed of salvation. We have been able to travel 500 streets with 50,000 pieces of gospel literature and 1,000 New Testaments.

We have verbally shared the gospel to 1,000 people. We have been able to travel another 20 villages which are around the city. Demonic oppression is very common in this area. 20 demonized people are set free and about 100 miracles of healing have taken place.

About 500 people have accepted Christ due to our joint venture. The motorbike also takes us to 20 prayer cells in the city. This great work could not have been achieved without that motorbike. Praise the lord!

We together are going to save many more souls from this dark area. Please continue to pray.

Nepal

We support the training of church planters and the launching of new house churches in Nepal. Here’s what our investments have helped accomplish in 2016:

  • 96 church planters completed the training we sponsored.
  • 10,845 heard the gospel face to face.
  • 1,401 trusted Christ.
  • 260 were baptized.
  • 258 new groups started.
  • 1,352 attend these new groups regularly.
  • 162 small group leaders trained.
  • 88 new House Churches started.

Africa

We've been working with house church planter Andy Swatton in Kenya, providing Bibles, training manuals, and school fees for kids. Andy and his fellow-workers are planting churches in predominantly Muslim areas, which is challenging.

These are just a few of the things God is doing
around the world—with your support. Thank you!
